Midcentury renovation

Don't mind the kids cup lid. I got this piece from the Salvation Army. I'm always scared to redo furniture and mess with the beauty of the originality of the piece, but someone already did some work on this one and it had the ugliest knobs.

So we started sanding it. Originally I wanted a lighter stain but someone replaced two of the drawer faces with pine while everything else was oak so the stain made them way too noticeably different. So we decided on a darker stain.

Super vintage beautiful.
That is all.

Hexagon quilt

It's always bittersweet when I finish a quilt. The anticipation to finish grows especially when I'm sewing on the binding. I hand stitch the binding on which makes it feel like it takes forever, and when I finish I am a little sad. I feel as if I put everything into the quilt and now I have nothing to do. Nothing to work on. Until I start/work on another quilt of course.

I feel like this quilt was actually pretty simple and I am very pleased with the result.

Ready, set, school

Can't believe this little nugget is going to preschool. No tears to report. Just walked in like it was her business and took off her shoes. Eli and I are celebrating right now so we should probably be productive.
