No music or tv for the day.
Now, I should really say it like this, "no radio or tv shows". Although I didn't listen to any music I kept humming and whistling so I dont know if that really counts as "music". Also, I didn't turn on the tv once today. However, Franklin is playing his video game right now but I am not participating.
I am excited for tomorrow. I picked up a shift tonight so that I would have extra money to spend on my mom's birthday. We are going to have so much fun tomorrow it is probably illegal.
I am excited we got a new couch from DI and it looks so good in our house, and it matches our previous couch so well! Now we can both actually lay down. We also some how acquired a piano??? I don't know all the details but our living room looks a lot fuller and more like a home. (pictures to come).
Ragnar is getting bigger and bigger or i should say taller and taller. Today I accidently dropped a piece of bread while I was making Franklin his sandwiches and Ragnar took it to eat it (which I am fine with) but he took it on the carpet. I didn't want him to drop crumbs all over the carpets so I went after him to take it and put it back into the kitchen but he ran and hid under the couch dropping crumbs all over of coarse. Then I dropped a piece of Ham a little while later, I am pretty sure his eyes rolled back in his head. So I started to train him with ham. He now follows and "comes" really well.
Life is well.

September the second
Well I am not very good with this whole new doing something new thing. My new experiences were holding a piece of ice until it was completely melted and being partially blind (for some strange reason I could only see partially out of my right eye it sucked). It is only the second day and I had already forgotten about it. So I couldn't use some of my "new experience day". Hopefully I will remember tomorrow.
I worked a double today so I am extremely tired, and of coarse I picked up a shift tomorrow night. Oh the joy! Today was just a wee bit frustrating. I was just frustrated with my schedule and the people at work and the customers. Oh, and I just love when a party of seven with a tab of 100 gives you ten dollars (this was roll-over frustration from the night before). Rant, rant, rant.
I haven't checked my plants today. They are probably all dead in this Arizona Sun.
I am confused on which metaphorical path in my life I should take. I know what I should probably do, but I know what I irrationally want and can't really have.
I can't wait till Saturday when I can go to the mall and celebrate her birthday with her.
Oh and something that I learned from my cousin-in-law, Nate (which is a new experience for everyone) is that todays date is 90210. CLEVER!

September the first
So someone sent me this thing over facebook, and I usually ignore things of this nature. However, I thought this idea would be a little fun! Its called 30 days has September. It is suppose to be a donation thing toward a certain charity, almost like the cancer walks... where people support you... but a different concept. The idea is every day in September the person must try new things. For example today I chose "getting stuff done that I have been meaning to do" no excuses no procrastinating. I paid all of our bills, cleaned, got our laundry done. helped Franklin at work, gardened, and blogged. phew. now all I have left is to go to work and make some money! :) It has been good but tiring, I think perhaps one day will be a do nothing day.
When I went out to garden I found two beautiful blossoms on my hibiscus. I must be doing something right! My little side yard is becoming prettier and prettier, I can't wait for it to cool down though.
I know its childish but, "I know something you don't know!!" :))

Sexiness
I have always been different on what I thought made women sexy. My heros have spanned across the decades from the independent flappers of the 1920s to the housewives of the 1950s. I mostly like the 1920s through the 1950s, but there are things that I appreciate from the other decades as well. I just seems to me that the women in the time period had something that made them beautiful and sexy. I love the independence and the rebellion of the flappers in the 1920s. they were very womanly yet they would go out and dance with "short" skirts and vamp around with men and smoke and drink. Yet I also love the 1940s women helping in the war effort actually having jobs other than a secretary or grade school teacher. They were tough and strong. The 1950s women, I love their ties to the home and the family. How were always cooking and smiling and taking care of their kids. They were the perfect little wives who had every meal ready with the perfectly cleaned and decorated little homes.
The flapper- They would have short "boy-cut" hair which was usually curly. They would draw their eyebrows longer and slanting down, have very dark smokey eyes and only put lipstick on the very center of their lips and extend their lip-line lower and higher to make them look puffy and voluptuous.
Defined by dancing and hanging out with some bootlegger. Drinking and laughing, I feel they are the ultimate have fun girl. The girl who wasn't serious and who any man would love to be around. They got all dressed up and go to an "illegal" club and do some "illegal" drinking. They would wear baggy clothes and lots of ostentatious jewelry. I love the care-free and the fun loving nature of the flapper.

She's a W.O.W. (Woman Ordnance Worker)-
Well the picture says it all. Tiny waist, beautiful face and a hard worker. What more could any man ask for? She has a purpose and determination. She is smart and strong, yet caring and womanly. Going to work and still looking great. (Which I even find difficult to do)
I feel that the sexiness thing about the 1940s woman is that they proved that they could do the jobs that men could do. They didn't have to be a secretary or a school teacher. They were able to work hard while still being very feminine. Boots during the day and heels at night. This makes the insult, "Your mother wears army boots" a complement.
The 1950s House Wife
Make breakfast, make lunches for the kids, make lunch for the husband, get the kids off to school, do dishes, clean the house, vacuum the house, wash the windows, do laundry, go grocery shopping, have a quick lunch, start preparing for dinner, make kids do their homework, finish dinner, eat dinner, clean up, do dishes, put kids to bed, clean, read, ****, sleep, repeat.
All with a smile and a beautiful dress.
Tough. I think the most awesome thing about this kind of woman is her organization and time management, and her beauty and happiness while doing it. When I have to take care of the puppy, clean and do the dishes I nearly have a break down not to mention I look like crap in the process. Out of most every job this is probably the most difficult.
In conclusion:
There is more than looking pretty to being sexy. But it doesn't hurt to look good while conquering the world.

Your Fox-Lang News for the Day
General Update:
I must be insane... because we are going to move again. I don't know what I was thinking but we will probably save more money being there. I am torn though. I love this house its old and has character it has a nice big kitchen and a big backyard with fruit everywhere. However, its an old house and half the things don't work. The air conditioning cools the outside more than the inside so our electricity bill is through the roof. There are cockroaches up the kazoo and there is no functioning washer and dryer and there is no dishwasher. Oh and you have the work tooth and nail to get the landlords to do anything. But I suppose its too late I have already committed. Franklin told me to decide (by myself) and that darn Mandy is so convincing!
We move in on October 1, so we still have some time in here and time to get organized and pack. Oh and if anyone wants to help us move that would be great!
Ragnar Update:
In other news, Ragnar is getting bigger and bigger every day. He is incredibly smart. When I am holding the treats he does all of his tricks but when we are outside he forgets everything and doesn't even come to his name. I think he has puppy ADD because I will call him and he will be like, "no, no there is this leaf over here that I have to chew on!" hmmm. Puppy training. grrr. Any suggestions?
Franklin Update:
Poor Franklin he has been working so hard I should do something nice for him. I wish I could help him or make his life easier. I always tell him Thanks for working so hard, but I want to do something on his day off or something. If you have any ideas tell me!
Somer Update:
I am pretty dorky/nerdy, but it is a good thing. I am been trying really hard to better myself. So my best friend and I made a list each of things we want to do weekly/daily that we want to do and things that we think would better ourselves. Like work out, read, pray/meditate, wear sunscreen daily, smile more, ect. And I have been doing well on it! I keep thinking, "The List!" So I put on my face cream with sunscreen in it and I am been trying to do some sort of exercise every day (even though today I am having a rough time finding motivation). I am kind of excited to move and have a washer, dryer, and a dishwasher :))

puppy breath, love bites, and dirty carpet
"My goal in life is to be as good of a person my dog already thinks I am."
Meet Ragnar.
He is an Australian Shepherd.
He loves bacon.
He is so smart! He has already learned sit, stay, roll over, lay down, come, and shake.
(I am running out of tricks.)
He has speckles of black all on his belly and paws.
We found him on Craig's list.
He is pretty good about going potty.
I love him.
He is my baby.
Ragnar loves to chew hair and bite ears.
He steals your underwear and hides them under the couch.
He is getting so big already!
I take him everywhere with me.
Petco, Home depot, Safeway, and more.
He likes to fall asleep in my lap during car rides.
He runs real fast.
He was named after a character in 'Atlas Shrugged'.
He loves chewing on sticks and nuts and leaves.
This is Ragnar.

Ling LANG Boom Bang
The Lang (and McDowell) Vacation Extraordinaire
Power walks, saddle sore legs, babies, marbles, pool, Zumba, shanghai, tired out tether-ball, ha ha haha ha ha haaa, and Franklin having a mild outburst in a friendly game of marbles have definitely defined this vacation.
Zumba is working out. I don't care who says other wise. They show you some of the most beautiful Latin girls and it makes you want to shake around just to have a tenth of the body they do!
Even thought it was vacation there were still a select few who still did non-vacation activities...
![]() |
| Non-vacation activities include reading and facebooking and being adorable |
I was glad that there were tons of babies there to play with! I got to spend lots of quality time with my FOUR nieces TYLER, CHARLOTTE, SAMANTHA, AND IVY
